EHCP Funding Review

At PAG, we’ve spent nearly a decade helping educational leaders and organisations improve outcomes for children and young people. In partnership with HY Education, we developed an advanced Education, Health, & Care Plan (EHCP) funding analysis tool designed to bridge the gap between legal obligations under the Children & Families Act 2014 and actual funding allocations.

We are working with schools and trusts as we speak to determine whether the funding in their EHCPs matches the legal requirements and continue to find significant shortfalls totalling in the millions. Unfortunately, all too often our analysis of SEND data has discovered that not only are there shortfalls, but the plans themselves are not fit for purpose.

With the rise of children requiring special education needs and disabilites (SEND) support, our tool provides school leaders with precise insights to ensure that funding accurately reflects pupils' needs. Proven to secure significant funding uplifts, this tool empowers schools and MATs to advocate for the appropriate resources critical for supporting their most vulnerable students.

PAG's experience & expertise

EHCP analysis

This sophisticated tool has already demonstrated its effectiveness by securing significant funding adjustments for schools and multi-academy trusts. For example, our tool identified a £750,000 underfunding in two specialist academies, as well as helping secure a £200,000 uplift for a maintained school.

We offer a high-quality, personalised service to help schools navigate the complex and time-consuming process of reviewing EHCPs. Through the tool, our team of proactive and detail-oriented experts will work closely with your school leadership to ensure a thorough analysis, identifying areas where funding is being underutilised or missed altogether.

We are committed to continuing our work to ensure SEND funding reflects real needs, ultimately improving the lives of children with SEND and supporting their educational journeys.

PAG provides a combination of strategic advice, practical guidance, and detailed analysis to help you make informed decisions regarding your school’s EHCP funding. When facing challenging scenarios, we present a range of potential solutions, outlining their benefits and trade-offs, so you can confidently choose the best course of action for your school or trust.
